There are two beautiful tall spreading beech trees in our garden. They inspire awe in me with their spreading branches and their loftiness. Their sturdy trunks speak to me of strength and stability. Oft they are laden with beech nuts which carpet the grass with brown bumps. The nuts speak of fertility and profligacy. They give readily of their fruits. When the wind comes as it does frequently their long branches sway and dance quite ominously. At times I want to reduce their immense size, to feel in control but they are God's work of art and God is their master. They reduce me to my humble size!.
