Questioning Our Questions

I totally agree---one of the things I admired most about my post-doc advisor (in the life sciences) was his ability to ask the right questions. My question: how does one learn "how" to come up with the right questions??! I also agree that this sort of thing is not emphasized enough in school! Thank you.
