When I was in high school I volunteered to work at the local hospital as a Candystriper. I wanted to see if I would like being a doctor by spending time with sick people. I passed around water, fed patients who could not feed themselves, helped out in the ER. I did this every Saturday and Sunday of my Junior and Senior years. I got an award for the number of hours, but the real award to me was discovering in serving I would lose myself but when I left I found that I had been filled by grace. Have been trying to serve ever since
