I agree with Patrick, we are to blame no one but ourselves. Employment since years back has not been known to benefit the lowest position in the company. Even during a setback, directors and CEOs has their fair share of bonus, while others get pay cut and sometimes get laid off.
I think the question is: Are you ready to face the reality which is the marketplace?
If you think you can be valuable, go where they pay you what you're worth. People often opt for security and they compromise on their growth as an individual.
