So true! And necessary to acknowledge whatever feelings we have in as healthy a way possible in order to process our way through them and hopefully reach a point of healing and acceptance. Yet we as a society have shown each other to always say we are fine, to not ask for help, for it is shameful, and implies we are weak…. This is how I was raised anyway… I have worked very hard to dispel these now fairly ingrained instincts to close off and shut down. How sad that it isn’t seen as brave, and rewarded for such self awareness and desire to heal ones hurts… in my experience , missteps and slips are often encouraged, though generally result in them being held against us in one way or another. I choose to continue to be honest with myself and my struggles, because i believe that’s the only way through an obstacle laden life. I think it’s tremendously brave, and will always have an open ear and compassion for someone trying to heal and better themselves!! ❤️❤️
