Although Robert Johnson's claim makes sense, i do not agree with his claim because i believe love is not just a word. Love is an action done to others and no matter what has happened or what someone did, you still love them. Love is not just 96 words, it's a never ending list of expressions and actions done for others and even yourself.
Love has multiple expressions and meanings , and to say that the English language has only one word to describe it is naive. It's naive because not only does love bring people together, it gives people the attitude of selflessness. For those who are Christians and children of God, we are taught throughout the bible to LOVE your enemies. Though they may not love you back we are supposed to still unconditionally love them no matter what.
Throughout the bible and its amazing books, it talks about how God unconditionally loves us, though we may not love him back, He still endlessly loves us. That's another example of love, it isn't like our earthly love, it is a divine and celestial love, that one cannot begin to comprehend. Even if you are not a Christian or someone who does not have a religion, you are still taught to think of others and love one another. Not only is it a biblical thing, it is also one of our moral rights and how we function as people, that's just the way us humans are. Though some may not agree with me or try to find some flaw in my argument, it's really just doing the right thing and loving one another as people. It is as simple as that, not complicated or difficult to understand at all.
