To deepen our alignment with the spirit of service and our friendships with each other, we often host local events (like serving elderly residents at a care home, taking to the streets for a kindness flash mob, hosting monthly heart circles and karma kitchen), alongside 1-day retreats. Below are some of the blog posts from some of our past gatherings ...
HeArt Circle: The intention of these monthly circles is to play and doodle with art in a group to build safe spaces of deeper connection both inside and outside. The process is usually to sit in silence, then express yourself through art, and then share after that. Stories from circle on Letter to mother, Child within, forgiveness, Be selfish, Be generous, Impermanence.
Pilgrimage of Generosity Word of mouth caused a snowball effect where 36 people ranging from the age of 7 to 70 years decided to say yes to a half a day walking pilgrimage on the banks of Narmada river.
One Day Retreats: The art of holding questions, Unfolding Stories of inner transformation, Why a small act of kindness
Magic Weavers: These guys are a tiny group of secret magicians who feel abundant with different forms of capital such as - time, attention, kindness, experience and much more and they gift it forward in the most simple yet profound ways. (Here are some photos from 2017 -18)
Public Talks: Meghna on Education, Panel on education for compassion, Advancement of technology and human well-being
Maitri Circle: To spread prayers of goodwill throughout the world, we meet in Maitri Circle. We start with some silence, then hold people or places around the world that could use some prayers, then direct our goodwill in that direction through our presence, song and stillness. This was especially inspired by a recent volunteer trip to Japan.
Conversations with community elders: Satya Prem Karuna, Experiments in Grace, Wisdom Stories, Vinoba Stories.
Kindful Kids Spending time with 5th graders to create a non-competitive atmosphere within the school eco-system. To open a space within the kids where they could feel complete and explore various dimensions about themselves.
MasTea is when we all meet to have fun and get to know our friends in rather different way than usual :). To share some good time along with some tea, stories and laughter. A lot can happen over a cup of MasTea. (Photos from the last three MasTea Gatherings).
Learning yoga every Sunday with Awakin Kids & here are some lessons from a 7 year old at Awakin.
Generosity overflows at Karmkitchen a restuarant run by volunteers, our meals are cooked and served with love, and offered to the guest as a genuine gift.
