"To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still." --J. Krishnamurti
Every Wednesday, a few of us come together to sit in silence for an hour, share some aha-moments for the second hour and often have a light meal afterwards. There no teachers, or agendas. Inspired by a family who has done this for more than decade every week, Awakin Circles are just a space to come together and share in a context of stillness, community and service.
To attend our next circle, simply click on the RSVP button and register. You'll then be emailed all the details shortly.
7:00PM An hour of collective silence; its unguided, without any instructions or music. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful.
8:00PM A short reading (sent out earlier via email), followed by a circle of sharing of "aha" moments from everyday life.
9:00PM Vegetarian meal, offered in silence. Those who stay afterwards are invited to offer time for local community projects.
Awakin Ahmedabad is hosted at the home of Meghna Banker near the Gandhi Ashram. There is no charge and no one is expected to bring anything but their lovely presence. If you are not on email, you can also call 9537160174.
What's the flow? We start with an hour of meditation; that is followed by a circle of sharing, and then a meal in silence.
How many people attend? Serendipity typically brings together 20-40 diverse folks.
Is there a Guru or teacher? No. Our hope is the we learn from each other, and from the collective circle.
Do you host other local events? Yes. Please check out Moved by Love.
I'm not local! You can join another location or perhaps even start your own!
We are profoundly grateful that our paths have crossed in this sacred way. Please do get in touch if you have any questions. We look forward to growing in stillness and service, together.
