“When I learned that the kundalini energy awakens in others, like a candle lights up another candle, I deeply understood my life purpose.”

After a two-year world tour as a back-up vocalist for Celine Dion, Rachelle Jeanty chose to leave the “luxury cruise ship” of popular music in order to remain true to her inner calling and follow her own path.

Originally from Haiti, Rachelle danced on stage in her father's dance group to the rhythm of Haitian drums and got her well-known sense of groove through these powerful rhythms as early as age 4. She grew up in Montreal and, at the age of 17, made her first steps in the music industry.

Rachelle had been working as a professional singer for several years when she was invited to join Celine Dion’s world tours. After nearly two years, she left the life of touring to pursue her musical dreams in Paris. Standing in line to board her first flight to Paris was her French music hero of the time. But despite that auspicious opening sign, things did not work out the way she had hoped in Paris.

Rachelle returned to Montreal following almost ten years of constant effort. “Ten years of leaps of faith. Ten years of risk-taking. Ten years of nonstop belief. Ten years of repeated refusals and broken promises and let downs by record companies until the next hopeful opening” she said in her 2018 TEDx Talk. Desperate and eager to reach her musical dreams, she ignored warnings from her intuition and found herself in a deep depression after significant setbacks.

When a new opportunity to sing with a choir arose, Rachelle accepted, despite fearing that she could no longer sing. Through the choir, she met a young woman who introduced her to a life-transforming meditation practice that helped her transcend the roadblocks and challenges she had experienced. Rachelle went on to become a Sahaja meditation guide which she has folded into her music. Combining music and meditation in her "Spirit of Joy" workshops and concerts, she has toured all over Europe and in Morocco, Kenya, and Taiwan to share the joy of singing and self-realization through the power of Sahaja Meditation. In 2023, she began offering “Circle of Joy” workshops using singing as an innovative tool for team building.

Rachelle also has built a diverse career as an artist. A number of her songs and performances can be found on her website and YouTube page as well as a special recording here from a 2024 Servicespace retreat. She resides in Germany and continues to create new music.
