Prof. Michael Penn, whose remarkable journey -- from childhood poverty to becoming a distinguished Clinical Psychologist and Professor of Psychology at Franklin & Marshall College (all while surviving a near-death experience and focusing research on the pathogenesis of hope and hopelessness) -- is an embodiment of resilience and fortitude in the face of deep uncertainty and adversity.
