Having had a series of health issues over the last few years, I am deeply aware of morning in terms of how I feel. I have noticed that when the sun comes shining through the window I am immediately happier. When I step outside and listen to the birds, I can face the day. This has become a routine that gets me going, lifts me up, and makes me appreciate the fact that I CAN rise out of bed, move, and enjoy life. This has happened to me before on two or three occasions, all of them much too brief in duration. But I distinctly remember that I felt connected to the universe and all that is in it... and I also had the thought that this is what it feels like to live eternally, to live long enough to be able to feel the essence of all living things, to be connected to all living things.... and that if only we had that privilege of eternal life, there could never be any war, violence, hatred, racism, etc. ... But of course, we all know that much is just common sense.
