universe winks :) i have felt it too at times :)
From our circle of sharing - This lady went to a spiritual program , where every time teacher asked a question, she would answer immediately. Later, when teacher discussed, her answer would change and she will put this new answer in the box. Thus for each question there will be multiple answers from her end. The teacher asked her to wait and watch multiple times but this exercise made her realize that she was over-confident of herself. She was able to become aware of her ego and now can say 'I probably don't know' with comfort.
Another story: We run away from being with ourselves , from pain, from facing our disturbance. This woman would always go out or be with people - avoid being with herself until one day, she chose to meditate during a difficult situation. She burst out crying loudly during the meditation but it melted the pain away and calmed her in a permanent way on that hurt. After that she chooses to be with herself during any pain, disturbance and that gives her a clear path to go forward. During death of a close family member, she chose to mourn for 4-5 days and that helped to clear the emotions such that the pain did not disturb her with the same intensity ever again - she was able to accept.
A summary from the circle of sharing of 3 of us is as follows:
Thank you for sharing and inspiring us to take courage and stand - not only for ourselves but for others too, where situations demand.
I just went to a 3 day 'vipassana' course where this reading kept coming back to me. Not only did the 'metta' sound familiar to above passage but also the centre's environment. Trees with several types of leaves, filled the space and it was an awakening to realise the valuable asset and gift given to us in form of plants and leaves by Lord Almighty. It's a blessing and in wonderful abundance. I felt much gratitude. Thanks.
Wow! 'Planet sized heart' what a depiction of the possibility and motivation to adopt largeness of generosity and compassion :)
Beautifully put Kristin :)
Being grounded, being humane is what the article sums up for me. The wisdom is put forth simply to make a beginning with one guy, this time your pizza delivery dude. The only concern I had was the mention of 'pizza delivery' so many times in the article as it brought water in my mouth , I was fasting :)
Loved your comments, thanks for the wisdom.
Dear Audrey,
I keep reading your posts and so I kind of feel like a friend who knows about some of your activities and thoughts. Your comment here is very useful as an addendum to the passage to bring the message out more clearly. I agree completely with your decision that slowing down and sinking in when so much is going through head is very important.
Blessings to you and your family. May all attain peace and your father's soul rest in peace.
Love, madhur
Powerful exercise! Thanks for sharing
A lot of wisdom in this comment, thank you

Today, after few weeks I was back home, hosting the meditation in the common room.
I was not sure if anyone would attend, but was glad when there were 3 others who came by and 4 of us together had a silent sitting.
During the discussion, one member shared, how she was taught from childhood, that she is 'replaceable' and that has helped her a lot. Another lady said that she loved all her people so much that death is scary and she never thinks about it. One man stated few words of Gandhi ji - 'Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.' One woman shared, how being close to death, taught one person to release negativity and design a course which helps others do so as well.
Overall, the Awakin circle was a great welcome!
