Can we realistically open our minds and be the gatekeeper of everything that enters it and furthermore not observe and judge any of these thoughts?
To have true peace, one need to surrender to God and not base it on how much effort or good works we can do. After all, Christ has done everything for us. What or Who are we worried of? :)
Awesome! A great thought and an opportunity to reflect on it. One has to be walking in the Spirit of God, like Isabel to show such compassion. Thank you!
Job 1:21
"And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I
return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed
be the name of the LORD."
Matt Chapter 10 Verse 8 Freely you have received, freely give
Human understanding, our own honest ways to be True to whoever or whatever will confuse us. Just from this site, from another posting and what many here said is Enlightening and Revolutionary "Meister Eckhart says: Thoughts are our inner senses. When the inner senses are dull and blurred, you can see nothing in or of yourself; you become a respectable prisoner of received images. Now you realise that 'eternal vigilance is the price of liberty' and you undertake the difficult but beautiful path to freedom. On this journey, you begin to see how the sides of your heart that seemed awkward, contradictory and uneven are the places where the treasure lies hidden. You begin to become true to yourself. And as Shakespeare says in Hamlet: To thine own self be true, then as surely as night follows day, thou canst to no man be false".
This is why it's best to Trust God and not lean on our own understanding. Is this concept difficult to grasp? Here's the rest of it: Proverbs 3:5-7 says:
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
Peace to all my beloved brothers and sisters!

We still try to find the path when Jesus said that He is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one can reach our Father in Heaven except through Jesus Christ. No soul who walked on earth claimed to be The Way or The Truth and we will find rest only in The Way/Path.
Praying that all my beloved brothers and sisters here find the ABSOLUTE path and not find truth in RELATIVITY.
Well said, Murray!
Post-Modernism: I happened to visit a famous building which was post modern..no rules..staircases leading to nowhere and people were appreciating the art of meaninglessness/relativism/post-modernism. My question to the guide who was showing us the building was, 'Does this building have an Absolutely good foundation or is it also Post-Modern???
We need Absolute moral laws to keep society from flowing wherever it wants to...any society which has done that has disintegrated. Now, the post-modernist will say, So what if it disintegrates? For that my answer is what the blind person told the religious leaders when Jesus healed him. He basically said, I don't care for your intellectual/theological debates. I know this that I was blind and now I can see.
We need to open our spiritual eyes and establish these laws in our heart and they should come from a heart yearning to fellowship with God. Nothing less will do!
God loves us all and may He bless us all and lead us to the Truth!
Here's how I am making that journey
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green [1] pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest [2] my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
This is God's wisdom and when you replace it with worldly wisdom and knowledge isn't that foolish? I am not judging but discerning. All the intellectualism wouldn't help you stand before the Glory of God.
God Bless you all and may He lead you all to the Truth which is the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross and His Resurrection!
Just my 2 cents! Love you all and I hope this message gets posted in its entirety 'coz it's so very important.
I am in love with my wife for the last 14 yrs. Our love is profound and unselfish, all these things that you have mentioned and it's because of who we have in th middle of the relationship. It's Jesus Christ, our Lord and our Savior. If my wife and I were 2 points on a triangle. Jesus is the Centre point of that triangle. As we get closer to Him, we both get closer! This is the Life He promises. Everything else is a cheap subsitute. :-)
